Phase Stormer 2

What is Phase Stormer supposed to be? Why does it have a window on that thing on its head? What is that thing on its head? There are so many questions I have about this Nanovor...

Phase Stormer 2.0's Slip Slash is a one-up of Whammy, which further promotes its role in SPD sabotage.

Ice Storm is a one-up of Icy Sigh, dealing more damage and unfortunately, EN as well.

Wind Chill is a new move that swap-blocks the target for a short while and a Yellow Spike causes the target to lose 10 ARM.

There is still nothing quite spectacular about Phase Stormer 2.0, and there are many other Velocitrons worthy of taking this one's spot in the swarm. Or maybe I'm just using him wrong...

OVERVIEW[]

  • The numbers at the end of Phase Stormer 2.0 should stand for "twice the nasty breath!" If you want to take this even further, though, it definitely puts the "storm" in Phase Stormer.  Just as flaky and full of itself as the first type of Phase Stormer, this evolution went off in a weird direction that I didn't think was possible. First of all, this Nanovor is able to use ice powers in ways we've never seen before. It can call up a wicked storm of ice to pound on the enemy, create an ice slick to make an opponent slow down and navigate the treacherous terrain, and best (or worst) of all, it can let loose with some of the worst morning breath you'll smell outside of Home period. I think all these ice powers have frozen its Nanovor brain, though, because it's still obsessed with putting on a big show. Just imagine some diabolical super villain who laughs (to no one in particular) at the sheer GENIUS of his evil plan to take over the world with a gigantic Freeze-Ray, and you'll get an idea of what Phase Stormer 2.0 is like.

HOW TO OBTAIN[]

This Nanovor was made available with the release of wave 1 on 07/30/09. To obtain this Nanovor, you must evolve Phase Stormer 1.0 using the EMs 1V2, 1V1 and 1V4 in that order.

TACTICS[]

  • Like other Nanovor with swap block abilities, Phase Stormer 2.0 should be used to keep wounded enemy Nanovor in the fight longer than they want to be or to buy some time while you build up energy to swap it out for one of your own that has some kick-butt, devastating attack. It's good to use Slip Slash early on to slow down your opponent for the rest of the battle.  Ice Storm can only be used every other round unless you've included a Nanovor in your swarm that gives you additional energy, like Spike Spine 3.0. This means you actually have to stop and think about when to attack directly with Phase Stormer 2.0. If it's facing a Magnamod, all the better: a Yellow Spike + Windchill wipes out any nasty armor, making those Ice Storms really effective and potent for the cost. Remember that Phase Stormer doesn't have any armor, so keep a close eye on its health and think about an override to make him dodge the worst attacks.

COUNTER TACTICS[]

  • Use a Spike Combo! It may seem like Phase Stormer is slow and weak, but its health makes it a force with which to be reckoned. Take advantage of its lack of armor and hit it hard by placing a Blue Spike with Spike Spine 1.0, then swapping in Giga Wing 1.0 to attack with Obliterate!
  • Blitz the Block! Phase Stormer 2.0 is famous for that pesky swap-block, so be prepared with a hack of your own! Your Battle Kraken 3.0 has a handy attack called Hack Zap that’ll erase all overrides and free your trapped Nanovor from Phase Stormer’s clutches.
  • Swarm of Krakens! There’s nothing awesomer than an angry sea monster. Your Battle Krakens have the speed needed to take down Phase Stormer, and the heavy attacks to get that health down to zero! Start with Battle Kraken 1.0 for a light attack, and graduate to the more powerful evolved forms. Phase Stormer won’t know how to keep up!

ORIGINS[]

  • Phase Stormer 2.0 is additional proof that Nanovor are intrinsically more adaptable and capable of surviving in the harshest environments conceivable. Considering that Lucas discovered this particular Nanovor in close proximity to liquid nitrogen, with a freezing temperature of -346 degrees Farenheit, this lends considerably more credence to the idea that Nanovor can be found in almost any location on the planet. We should contemplate the idea that we could eventually locate Nanovor within the ice of the Antarctic or even in the immense pressures of the abyssal depths of the world's oceans.
