Storm Spinner 2


Storm Spinner may look familiar; it's on the Nanovor icon! Storm Spinner is quite literally the most iconic Nanovor of them all, facing tough competition from the likes of Tank WalkerGamma Fury, and Phase Spiker, who all appear on different Nanovor titles.

Storm Spinner 2.0 can do what Storm Spinner 1.0 can but better (maybe that's why they look so similar...), at the cost of more SV:

  • Reflex Zap is like Crystal Trap, but it buys one more turn of swap-blocking for the cost of 1 more EN.
  • Spin Strike now deals 33 armor-piercing damage!
  • Storm Spinner 2.0 can quickly gain momentum with Speed Demon, causing moderate damage, and accelerating Storm Spinner 2.0 to speeds competing with Hexites!

It's easy to confuse a Storm Spinner 1.0 with a Storm Spinner 2.0; however a Storm Spinner 2.0 is different as marked by an indigo tinge seen at the tip of its tail.

OVERVIEW[]

  • Storm Spinner 2.0 is still the wrestler that the original alpha version was, but this time it comes with its own posse to hold its cape and its huge World Championship belt for it. I think I spent more time watching Storm Spinner 2.0 prepare for a fight than I did watching it actually fight in it. That's ok, let it. It has to go around and get the other Nanovor pumped up for the impending smackdown, flex its muscles, and generally make an ass of itself. Once this is over, though, you'll have a Nanovor that not only can hold its own, but inspires the others in its swarm to be all around faster and better. Sit back, grab some popcorn, and watch the show.

HOW TO OBTAIN[]

This Nanovor was made available with the release of wave 1 on 07/30/09. To obtain this Nanovor, you must evolve Storm Spinner 1.0 using the EMs 1V1, 1V3 and 1V2 in that order.

TACTICS[]

  • Storm Spinner 2.0 is awesome as the first or second Nanovor that you bring into a battle. Wait until you have enough energy and then pop off Speed Demon to give it a jolt of speed that'll make it almost impossible to fend off. After two of those, Storm Spinner WILL be going first. Once these are in place, you can follow up with as many Spin Strikes as you feel like spending to deal some damage and throw in a Reflex Zap if you need to keep the opponent around for another Nanovor to get its licks in.

COUNTER TACTICS[]

  • Don't Swap Out Too Often! It's often useful to not swap in a couple of Nanovor for a while to save up their health. Start off with Electrobull 2.0, who has awesome attacks for a wide range of energy costs. Start off with Gore, then upgrade to Bull Blast for some heavier damage.
  • Win the Race! It's important to be quick against this feisty Nanovor, so save up 3 energy, then swap in your Circuit Flyer 2.0 and use Power Rush to give your swarm some much-needed speed. Next, swap in a Hexite like Spike Spine 2.0, and attack with Arcing Gore.
  • Trap It in Place! Storm Spinner loves to run away as fast as it can, so lock it down while you can! Start off with Storm Spinner 1.0 and attack with Crystal Trap. Once Storm Spinner 2.0 is locked down, attack with Gamma Stalker 2.0's Phase Fang for some real damage.

ORIGINS[]

  • Possessing a huge amount of ego for such a small creature, Storm Spinner 2.0 is well suited as a leader among the Velocitron family. From what I've gathered, Storm Spinners would engage with others of their kind for a fight of dominance before actual combat, which sometimes resulted in the spontaneous evolution of a Storm Spinner 2.0. This newly formed beta version would then pick himself up and lead the now energized swarm into combat.
